How to fix errors while doing extractions

Hi Gurus:

can some one tell me a good step by step procedure to look and fix a error while doing extractions from R3 to bw.if you have any docs, can u plz mail me at kavi.sdn@gmail.com. to be specific, i want to start frfom r/3 to bw:

source system connectivity, RSA3, RSA7, PSA, like that. but i would am looking for some errors, which gives me a clear understanding of the problem and the way to fix to it.

Kedar,

I sent you mail with a document- on LO-extraction and explained rsa3,rsa7 etc.

Also sent few configuration and settings documents.

Thanks for your time and for sending me the very informative metarial.

can you please tell me a common approach for "how to and where to look into an error inorder to fix it". i know the complexity differs from an error to error, but being a expert(s) like you, i hope u know a general guidelines for where to look in.BTW, i gave points to you.

hi Kedar,

you can check infopackage monitor,

menu environment

-> short dump (st22)->in source system

->in datawarehouse

(source system means r/3, crm, or another bw where the data being extracted, datawarehouse means bw itself)

can check the same for source system and datawarehouse

-> job log (sm37)

-> system log (sm21)

-> trfc

and tab 'detail', you may find which record(s) cause error, and what's the error e.g invalid value (wrong date format, lower case, special character, unit/currency not exist)

so, i am just making a common list here:

OMSL for material length

PSA

ST22 in SS

SM21

Details tab in RSMO

TR Mapping

IO activation

RSD1

SM37

Error handling

Manage tab on the DT

Data validation in Manage

RSRV, RSRT, RSDDSTAT, ST03, and so forth.

i guess these are a few tools. am i still missing anything.

for some reason, i was not able to see the radio buttons to give points. i will give once i see them.
