problem with Adobe forms layout

I am trying to create a PDF form using SFP transaction.

When I switch to 'Layout' tab it is giving error like 'Could not start layout designer(see the long text)'

I guess the ADS services are not registerd in my system.

But where I need to check for this?

additional info: I am using SAP ECC 6.0 latest version

hi Chitra,

I have also faced the same problem. the solution that worked for me was:

Installing Adobe LiveCycle Design ( choose setupAll while installing as the checkbox's for Adobe livecycl and GUI needs to be checked) and Adobe reader 8.0 on my machine.

From what is described you must experience problems from Adobe Livecycle Designer (ALD) not being installed at your PC (frontend). These problems have little connection with ADS (Adobe Document Services) - server part of the solution, that should be installed on your SAP server.

Check notes about Adobe Designer installation as mentioned by Andreas.

Hi Chitra,

Below is the procedure to check ADS in ABAP:

1. Log on to your SAP Net Weaver AS ABAP.

2. Call transaction SA38 and enter the name FP_TEST_00.

3. Choose Execute (F8). A dialog box is displayed.

4. Enter FP_TEST_00 in the field Form.

This is displayed as the default form name.

5. Enter the name of the connection to the ADS. Enter the default name ADS, or, if you have specified another name, the one you are using in your system.

6. In the dialog box, choose Output in Print Preview.

7. Enter an appropriate device type in the field Output Device.

8. Choose Print Preview.

The correct version depends on your release.

The configuration check about ADS is described in note 944221.
