Hi All
Have configured local SLD on a standalone Java system. This system is planned to be central SLD.
Also ,have registered another Java system ,Portal ,to this central SLD.
But when tried to configure a ABA\P system ,have to maintain RFCs and gateway service .
This is a java system based on NW 7.0 SR3.
So my question is -1)do i need a gateway service separately,or how to create a RFC for this system.
2).On this system ,we are using multi-sid and there are another systems say PI ,so will it be ok to give their gateway service name.(i have already tried but its not working.,may be something missing).
Pls suggest me.
Regards
Ajay
Thnx thats fine ..i got some idea on CEN.
Actually as i told ,i am using a standalone Java system ,so CEN is out of picture.
So can i conclude that without gateway service i cann't register ABAP systems to Java SLD system or in other words ,i need a dual stack system to configure Central SLD ??

HI Ajay
Firstly SLD is configured in dual-stack it is recommeded since SLD will be contained in JAVA systems , if your using ABAP based system definitely gateway has to be defined in tcode RZ70, if u you want JAVA based systems it will be connect through http directly to SLD using VA.
Thanks
Ravi

The link mentions how to configure SLD on Java system ,which is already done.
My concerns is bit different ,like i don't have a gateway service and i am looking to connect the ABAP systems to it.
Also ,can you pls let me knwo what is this CEN??
Ambrarish
Thnx ,but is gateway service required ,we cann't do without it??
I couldn't find any gateway service details in the profile of the SLD right now.

In order for a java system to communicate with abap based system you need to have a gateway installed. If you have already installed a gateway then in the http:<localhost>:5<instance nummber>00/sld portal under the administration tab there will be a button as profile.Click on it then you can set all the parameters .In the drop down select as all the set the parameters such as GatewayService (datasupplier): sapgw<instance number >
GatewayHost (datasupplier): localhost
So you need to have a gateway installed on the same host or else you need to change the host name as given in the parameter.
Please revert back to me in case of any queries.
