Integration of SAP with Winfax/Outlook

First I want to know the most expeditious way to import

a contact list from Outlook into SAP.

Importing an excel file (turned into a text file) can damage the database even when following guidelines

Getting the Outlook plug in to work (with patches, upgrades, minimum requirements is laborious and problematic and when finished the actual importation of

a list adds more time again to this whole process

Importing data into MSSQL and having it available in

SAP is also problematic

Just adding recipients to a distribution list seems the

least time consuming

Is there any way to do this that is quicker and easier

than just adding names in SAP in a distribution list?

Thanks

Larry Marcus

Another solution would be to use iBOLT Special Edition to parse an excel spreadsheet. This can be done in batch or on the fly.

Lawrence,

This question actually does not pertain to the SAP Business One Integration for SAP NetWeaver ... so that is not a product that you would use.

With respect to your question about importing contacts from MS Outlook to SAP Business One, if you do not wish to use the SAP Outlook integration addon, and not only can a straight import using SQL be problematic but if not done correctly could cause corruption to the Business One database. I would then recommend that you look at using the SAP Business One Data Transfer WorkBench (DTW). This is an SAP tool that allows you to take text files that are comma, tab or space delimited as well and using ODBC to connect to relation database tables and graphically map the external data to SAP Business One objects such as the Business Partner Master and therefore Contacts. The DTW provides Excel template to assist in arraigning the appropriate data for import. The DTW is located with the SAP Business One installation media as an optional install.
