Is it advisable to change material type using T code MMAM after creation of BOM, Routing and product cost collector. Material does not have any stock so it will allow to change Mat type but my question is that will it affect BOM, Routing and cost collector?

Hi,
Effects are many;
(a) May be different number range
(b) May be different Valuation class
(c) May be different views
(d) May be different Price Control
(e) May be different MRP Parameters
If above parameters are not affecting your business transactions; then, Check, counter check and recheck and use transaction code MMAM

Are you using different number ranges for your from material type and to-material type?
If yes, then you will screw up the logic of this number ranges.
As changing of material type will not create new material numbers, so you will get a material in material type B with a number from material type A.
