Dear Friends,

what is inspection method and how it is used in inspection lot and how does it used in Real scenario in business

currently i dont use any inspection method and still it satisfy my requirement but just wonder how it will be used in inspection lot

We create a inspection method in DMS as a word document and when I tried to attach it with the inspection method QS31, pop comes that this is not possible with this object types.Why this happens. Or the DMS has to be linked through object links(in DMS) to the inspn method.

Hi Selva

To link the document to inspection method go to the transaction cv01n in that select the source file from DMS server and then in the object link Tab select the inspection method and save thus document get linked .

If A MIC is What to inspect

A Inspection Method is How to inspect.

You are right that without Method also you can work.

If you are using a method In task list ...then While result recording a new Tab will appear ehich will contain the "METHOD" so that operator will know how to Inspect a Char using this Method or This method is used to inspect this Char.

S if You have attached any document in Method then it can be seen directly while RR.

That' how it is helpful.

Hi,

Inspection method you can define as the instruments which you are using for checking the MIC

for e.g. if diameter is the MIC then vernier caliper you can define as inspection method and can assign it to that MIC like you can create inspection methods

Hi Raj,

Inspection Method is usd to define procedure and execution method of an inspection in Inspection Method (T.code:QS31). It defines how an inspection is to be done as particular Inspection characteristics are inspected according to different procedure.

Other Salient Points:

1.You can assign several Inspection Methods to a MIC.

2.When the MIC is included in Tasklist,1:1 assignment happens between MIC and Inspection Mthod in Tasklist.

3.To be able to use, IM should be in released state.

4.It is possible to assign document on the web in IM.URL should be stored via.DMS.

5.You can also assign, IM directly to TaskList characteristic.

It is not a mandatory QM Master.You can do without it happily
