Hi,

1. wat database are u using ?

2. In which step did the process stop out of the 29 steps in the database instance?

From my understanding, Its not able create tables in the database.

So checkout to the database, it creates a folder with ur system id and under tht folder see for the tables like SAPSDIC ..... . If u have those tables there, its not the problem with the database.

If u provide more information on tht, I will try to help u.

Thanks,

Ram

Hey,

For Sql Server 2k, did u actually install the <b>intercoll exe</b> file and while installing the sql server, did u choose option "<b>Binary ....... unicode..UTF8 (us)".</b>

Since it failed in the 17 step, I suppose its not able to read the data from the export dvd.

Before u start the DI did u dump the export DVD into ur local disk and give tht path while setting DI.

The better option dump the unicode kernel dvd, export dvd to ur local drive and give the path while installing the DI.

Just check on these and let me know if u still have the problem.

Thanks,

Ram

Hi,

Did u check out with the PAM (Product Availability Matrix), whether the OS is compatible or not. U said u r using Microsoft XP Prof., but when I looked at service.sap.com, it says u need to have windows 2003 server .

I am not sure whether XP prof is supported or not , just cross check on tht.

Thanks,

Ram

Hi All, I am having the same error...did you solve it and if so what is the soluton?

Tony.

I thinks its failing because you need to create your usr/sap/..... directories with the SIDADM user.

If you have used a sys admin user the process won't work.

Hello

I had the same error message during installation of a mySAP ERP2004. But it was with an Oracle DB on Unix and not with a SQL Server as in your case.

What solved the error is to configure the listener and restart it.

The installation did not work (and I think it's the same reason in your case) that no DB load process can connect to the DB. Check e.g. as <SID>adm if R3trans -d does work (or what ever you have with the SQL Server to check the DB connection).

Marco
