Dear All,
In the team calendar in ESS ,I want to use my custom Function module which gets the subordinates for the manger.
Please tell how to proceed in this direction.
Regards,
Geet Bijlani
Hi Geet,
Create a custom FM taking template of HRWPC_PATHROOTS for fetching target object.
Create a custom selection rule for fetching root & target object and maintain here your custom FM.
I hope it helps...
Regards
Pooja

If above doesnt meet your requirement of course you can use A FM, Many people use it
as it is simpler
Standard uses :
(HRWPC_RFC_GET_OBJECTS) to determine employees.
If you do not need this behaviour then you can write your own Function
Molule based on the delivered template HRWPC_EVAL_PATH. This template
is contained in function group HRWPC_TO_TEMPLATES.
Review note 795248 for more information.

Geet
read reply from Nolasco.
She is talking about something called object and data provider. That is the solution for you.
It will take 4 hours to implement what you need.
@vivek - there are other ways which are better. OADP is better then any modification.
thankyou

Hi,
IF you custome RFC is ready then ..
You have to import the rfc into application using thru NWD studio.
create a model for it
and then execute the Cutomised fucntion model thru code..
the functionality is inside web dynpro explorer
we give the server details , then search for RFC , and then select it .
Cheers,
VIvek

Dear Vivek,
Mine is not a custom application.I just wanted to know whether is it possible to use my FM to pickup the subordinates.
To be precise in the standard ESS application TEAM CALENDAR is it possible to use custom FM for fetching the subordinates. The document you are referring is nowhere related to the issue.

Geet Bijlani
Geeta,
By following process it can be done
Once you done with the Customized RFC development.
Then do the following process.
You have to import the rfc into application using thru NWD studio.
Create a model for it
and then execute the Customized function model thru code..
The functionality is inside web dynpro explorer
We give the server details, then search for RFC, and then select it.
Without this functionality its Not possible.
Cheers ,
Vivek
Hi,
FYI, my name is Geet and not Geeta.
I guess you are not getting it,this is not a custom application all together....just the process of fetching the subordinates needs to be customized.
I am talking about the standard ESS Team calendar under working time and not custom application.

Geet Bijlani

Hi
any specific reason to use custom function module, You can achieve most of the requirements using OBject and Data Provider in SPRO and use eval paths for the same.
