set up purchasing groups

I need to set up purchasing groups in config. Please could you let me know the process on how to do this.

Hi

U can create new purchasing group as required.

No need to assign to the any of the enterprise structure.

It is a independant element. No need for any assignment.

after reachingthere click on the new entry button. there u create the reqd. purchsing groups. here u give the details like telephone no., extension no., fax no., extension no.etc.

to create the purchase group follow the menu path:

SPRO > IMG > MATERIAL MANAGEMENT > PURCHASING > CREATE PURCHASING GROUPS.

Hello,

A purchasing group is a key for a buyer, or group of buyers responsible for certain purchasing activities.

The purchasing group is:

1.Internally responsible for the procurement of a material or a class of materials

2.The principal channel for a company's dealings with its vendors

Path for creating the purchasing group is as below..

SPRO > IMG > MATERIAL MANAGEMENT > PURCHASING > CREATE PURCHASING GROUPS

Further these purchasing group can be used in creation of Purchase Order at header level in Organisation Tab of PO.
