Hi all,

I want to know the Classification Concept Clearly. Can anyone gve me the Materials?

Hi Vimal ,

Classification concept is basically same in almost all wherever we require , but it differs slightly in one to another requirement. For Example :

1) Quality management: Quality of a product may be measuring on some set of characteristics say

color intensity, Lengh, Weight like that. So you will be maintaing these characteristcs with different Values and you will be assigning these set of chars in the class. while results recording you will be checking the values attained for these chars of the product while on inspection. Based upon these Values a Batch will be determined . Like this it will be used in QM.

2)Variant configuration: Here also You will be maintaining the charectristcs and Values based on the Variance of the Product you are manufacturing or selling and these chars will be maintained in Class type 300( Variant class) . Then while on configuring the product you will be selecting different Values for the diffrerent Chars. With this combination you will be getting a Varinat ( example Laptop, go to Dell.com and Configure the variant you need ).

Like this it differs from the area to area but the concept is almost same .

Hi Vimal,

It depends on what sort of classifiation you are looking for. Do you want Classification for PLM area Eg classification for materials etc ? If you are lookign for Classification system in ERP then you can find all the details on the link below.
