I am creating one storewise PL report through report painter.Is it possible to select Document type (Financial document types) in report painter

Try using business transaction as a selection parameter from the available characteristics.

Can you clarify in which report type is 'business transaction' available as a characteristic. I have also been searching to include characteristic 'Document Type' in my reports.

I was referring to a report created in library 1VK, Edit -> Gen. Data Selection -> Available Characteristics -> Bus. Transaction
Don't know if this will help you...but you can check if this is what you're looking for.
