New orders shipping before the old orders?

Hello All,

We have an issue with one of our plant, basically they want the delivery due list to create deliveries 7 days in advance, which will allow their shipping department enough time to pick and ship the product. We have an option with calculation rule 3 in delivery due list which creates deliveries which are due to ship by the end of next week including the past due. This could have been a best option for them but they also have their customers set up for complete delivery, So delivery will not create until we have the complete quantity.

The main problem they are having is newer orders are stealing the stock from older orders because of this complete indicator.

For example if there is an order in the system "XYZ" which has a qty of a material of 100 pcs. Lets say its schedule to ship in 7 days for the full 100. you have 50 in stock now and a production order for 50 more to fulfill the requirement is in MD04.

Now lets say there is another order ex "ABC" which came after this order for the same item and they only need 20 pcs. By moving the variant for the delivery due list out to 7 days this order (123) could potential take 20 pieces from the 100 pc qty. This could push the date of order (ABC) out past the 5days leadtime. So now another production order will be created for the 20 pcs to meet the requirements of (ABC) and this older order will appear late in delivery performance.

Appreciate if you could throw some light on this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Mike,

In OVZ2 apply the cummulation rule three. So at the time of creation of sales order system will consider the all the requirements before confirming the sales order.

This is the one possibility that you can explore.

Thanks and regards,

hello, friend.

there are several options, some of which are:

1. backorder processing (where delivery priority comes into play) and

2. settings in availability check OVZ2, choosing accumulation option '3' for your availability check type

please post your feedback.

regards.
