Hi!

I am assigned to handle SCM/APO/LC.

Is CIF status monitoring a basis job for a basis admin like myself?

Thanks!

CIF setup requires basis but afterwards the definition of CIF administration is a vague topic.

Some shops have a basis person handle all CIF, like the models and distribution definitions, etc... even getting involved with master data strategy. I think this extreme to the right.

Some shops have the master data team handle all the CIF, and for similar reasons, I think this is extreme to the left.

The best solution is a partnership of the master data team, IT application team and production operations.

Hi Linda,

CIF status monitoring is a critical activity which requires lot of focus and attention. If there are struck queues in CIF, it will hamper the entire planning jobs of APO modules. Due to this, the integrated systems that are linked with APO will also suffer. As most of the organisations schedule CIf jobs during night, it is very crucial to monitor CIF during night. CIF initial settings can be done by basis and the monitoring ideally could be a person who knows more business knowledge. The reason being, if there are any struck queues or sysfails in terms of missing master data or transactional data, he could take potential actions to avoid major stoppage.
