No you cannot change order type, even if it is CRTD status.. Instead of that TECO the order and create another production order.

Dear Ravi,

no within SAP standard this is not possible. And you should not do it as modification as many different customizing is readed based on the order type.

Set the order to close or technically completed and create a new order with the correct type.
