Item issued on Returnable basis to customer

Dear Experts,

What is procedure for After Sales Service?

Send an item on returnable basis to customer;

Eg. Rotary Table Main Sub Assembly of high value - Get back the item, receive into stores via GRN and QA; issue to assembly for rectification and take back to stock.-- which movement types are to be used?

Hi Nandu,

You can use the In-house Repair Scenario for this. This can be done using repair orders. See SAP help for more information on this process.

Here, you create repair order (RAS), receive material to sales order stock via return delivery, then send temporary replacement material to customer, repair the returned material thru Service Order, send the repaired material to customer via outbound delivery, then receive the replacement material via return delivery, and finally invoice the customer for costs booked against service order.

By the way, your requirement needs clarification: you say in bold "Send an item on returnable basis to customer;", but below that you mention "issue to assembly for rectification and take back to stock"
