Hi,

Thanks to all for reply.

Rohit -

I do not find "dev_wo" file in the system. Do you mean the error logfile - "sapinst_dev.log" or "sapinst.log" ? The filles are big in size like 14MB and 6MB.

The system is in the domain. So there is no need for any host file entries.

Can you tell me the location of the file you are asking for ?

Subhash -

In services file there is no entry as you have mentioned - hostname/3900

Instead there is entry for the message server like below -

- sapmsPRT 3600/tcp # SAP System Message Server Port

So i did another entry in the files as below

- sapmsPRT 3900/tcp # SAP System Message Server Port

- sapmsPRT 3901/tcp # SAP System Message Server Port

Is this ok ? Or can you tell me how the exact entry that should be entered in the services file ?

Please guide.

Thanks again,

Kalpesh.

Hello Kalpesh,

The entries in services file seems to be ok

Also you can find dev_w0 under usr/sap/SID/work folder

basically look out for work folder in your OS and then in that you can find dev_w0 logs

delete these entries, they are invalid and could cause other problems later:

sapmsPRT 3900/tcp # SAP System Message Server Port

sapmsPRT 3901/tcp # SAP System Message Server Port

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

I would find the "dev_w0" file. There is no option to attach the file here. Copying the file contents exceeds the maximum length of 15000 characters !!!

I have uploaded the file. Please download from below link.

Have you tried starting the system from SAP administrator MMC from the Windows Desktop and look for errors at Syslog?

Does your server has the firewall running or any other security system that blocks ports?
