Why are you looking for FM?
Its simple yesterday's date = SY-DATUM -1.
SY-DATUM is system variable which returns today's day.
try and revert.

Just in case there is, my mentor encourage us to use FM.

Im not familiar with this FM, i tried using it but it doesnt seem to give me the right output
it give an expiration date? am i right?
