Installation of SMD agent

Hi,

I'm trying to install SMD Agent on managed Java system.

I have downloaded SMDAGENT15_0-20003546.SAR from Service Marketplace. Unpacked it and got a folder SAP_Netweaver_2004s_SR3_SMDAGENT.

Instguide says:

Windows

1. Log on to your host as a user who is member of a local administrators group.

2. Map a network drive pointing to the DVD location

3. Open the command line in the installation directory, or double-click the executable in the

Windows Explorer, and run the command:

<CD drive>:\<SMD Agent DVD Directory>\sapinst\opt\SAPINST\NT

\<OS>\sapinst.exe

The Welcome screen appears, and the installation begins.

But I do not have \sapinst\opt\SAPINST\NT\<OS>\sapinst.exe in unpacked SAP_Netweaver_2004s_SR3_SMDAGENT folder. I think I'm missing something, but I don't know what.

Could someone point me to right direction?

did you download all these ?

The version of the software is NetWeaver 2004s :

As of SR3 You need to download three DVD:

BS2005 SR3 Installation Master u2026

NW 7.0 SR3 UC-Kernel 7.0u2026

NW 7.0 SR3 Java

I have these, but on different server.

My NW SP level is 14 - it's not SR3. How do I install SMD without SR3 DVDs?

We downloaded SMD agent SP13 in this scenario

For NetWeaver 2004s

services.sap.com->Downloads->SAP Software Distribution Center->Download->

Support Packages and Patches->Entry by Application Group->SAP Technology Components->

SAP SOLUTION MANAGER->SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0->Entry by Component->Agents for Satellite Systems->SMD AGENT 7.0->Select your OS type

Download SMDAGENT 13 file

That's exactly how I downloaded mine, but how do I install it without NW SR3 DVDs. It does not contain sapinst.exe.

Hi Konstantin,

The sapinst.exe is present under the IM_WINDOWS_I386 folder which is part of the unpacked files.

Downlaod SMDAGENT15_0-20003546.SAR SP15 for SMD AGENT 7.00 from SMP.

Also, solution manager needs to be updated with the latest LM-SERVCIE SCA file.

That's the problem. I do not have this folder, I have only DATA_UNITS and META-INF folders on unarchived DVD.

Please avoid using old releases of the SMD agent. Please check this Wiki:
