Hi,
the material Document numbner range is FI Year wise.
And in India FI year start on 1st April.
If you don't want to the year wise number range , please maintain year 9999 in the year field, when u r maintaining number range for material document

hi,
no ranges can be maitained as calender yearwise or Fiscal yearwise or year independent as per your requirement.
As per SAP standard material doc no ranges are no year dependent.

sujit

Hi
We define the fiscal year variant in OB28 and assign it to company code. Number range for material documents will be company code wise and will follow fiscal year variant (if it is April - March then MM range will be April - March).
Thanks

Hi Sachin,
Matl doc no range is always Calender year.
You can have material documents number range valid up to 9999, FI will maintain theri accouting docs number range every year. If you want you can enter the year instead of 9999, then that range will be valid till that year.
Thanks,
rahul.

Hi,
calander year means from January to december. For example: January, 2009 to December, 2009.
FI year means financial year.It differs from country to country. In India we have financial year like April to March. For example April 2009 to March 2010.
You can make material cander wise also for that the financial year should be calender wise.
