c) If we want to use only SRM-MDM do we need to purchase the entire MDM solution.

d) What is the difference betwenn MDM and SRM MDM(If any)

Hi,

the SRM-MDM is using the same core and function as MDM, but some MDM part is missing and was changed. These are 2 different systems. It is not adviced to run MDM and SRM-MDM on the same server, due to memory consumption and different patch levels!

If you have the licence to SRM, than you can download the SRM-MDM from the SMP.

On the download side, you should search for the last version under the Support packs!

There you will find the SRM-MDM 2.0 version, where you have to download 2 files!

One is an OS independent part and the other is OS dependent. These 2 files contain all the needed files for the installation! You don't need any further file, so no MDM is needed.

The SRM-MDM is developed from MDM, some parts was cut and some new added, such as search UI and config UI, which enables the webusage of the catalog.

MDM has more function, but cannot used as catalog in the purchasing system.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Tamás
