storage location

Dear Gurus,

Our requirement is that the material should not accept any other storage location than assigned storage location while GI, GR, goods movement. System should give error message.

How to map this?

Even If you maintain the stor location in the material master,system will allow you to enter some other stor loations... The storae location in the material master will make the storage location to get copied to the production order..thats all..

So what you are asking is not possible in my understanding.. If you want that stil, it can be done for new materials only... In MMSC you have to maintain the only storage location which you want ..Then the system will not allow any other stor,locations..

Hi Kartik,

In std. SAP there is no such restriction.You have to use either User Exit or put some authorisation control with help of your Basis person for usage of Storage location.

Thanks for quick reply.

If a material is mentained in storage location 001 and same storage location is mentained in material master (issue storage location) still while gr if user will put another storage location say 002, system will

accept it. We want to restrict this. System should give error that material is not mentained in storage location 002.

Can this be achieved by using any user user exit.

Please help.

In OMB2 & OMB3, uncheck the "create stor loc automatically" indicator & try.

Use available user exit in the T code you use for GR, to map your requirement.

Hi,

Deactivate the Automatic Cration fo Storage Location in OMB2 & OMB3.

Then system will not extend the Material to this Storage location automatically.

Before doing GI and/or GR before hand you must have extended the new storage location in the Material Master.

Hi,

You need to define the production issue location for FG and SFG in material master...

For FG the defined location will become default production location for GR

For component defined location will become default issue location for GI
