SMICM - Emergency mode

Hi all,

Recently we did a system copy for production system ECC. When i am trying into login into the SMICM transcation its takign for a long time and the maximum time is exceeded. Then i tried to log in to the transcation using SMICM_SOS in that i understood that SMICM is running in a emergency mode.

I am not able to change the mode as well and all smicm activities is getting timed out.

As of now SMICM is not running.How can i start the SMICM in running state?

Anyone have any idea from how to get rid off this issue? Kidnly suggest me.

goto SMICM_SOS select administration -> leave emergency mode

then try administration -> ICM ->exit soft ->global

Thanks Samrat,

I tried this option. Leave emergency mode its taking too much time and ending in a maximum runtime exceeded.

rdisp is having = 600 secs and also i am not able to do restart (PRD system)

So please suggest me in some other way.

after system copy have you imported profile parameter?

check ICM parameters in RZ10

also i am not asking you to restart entire SAP system try only restarting ICM from SMICM or SMICM_SOS (exit hard)

Yes, I tried that too (adminsitration ---> ICM ---> EXit hard and soft.). The operration is succefully executed and still remain the same ICM is not running. Then I tried to refresh the page i am getting a message as this opertaion is cannot be excuted in emergency mode

And also I tried this option leaving emergency mode

The message is below == Operation failed (rc=1-).

From your log file it seems there is a problem either with buffers, or with deadlocks (or both).

As already has been asked: Are your profile parameters set properly? Especially those regarding buffers?

And check kernel patch level, according to SAP note 912031.

Hi Vijay,

Kindly show me the ICM related parameters of your system from RZ10 and SMICM.

What is the status of services HTTP,SMTP,HTTPS from SMICM?

Please increase the Trace level to 3 and restart ICM from SMICM.

Please check the permission and ownership of kernel files icm.properties,icmbnd,icman and icmon.

No other go for me,,So I restarted the whole machine and its working for me.

with out restarting ABAP engine just only restart Java engine by using SMICM or by using Visual Admin
