Data exchange between SAP and AS400

Former Member

We are trying to setup and interface which should exchange data between a SAP system (unix)

and a stand-alone AS400( Iserie). We want to use a table to exchange the data. Both from SAP to AS400 and backwards from AS400 to SAP.

We want to use the RFC technic for this interface. We found a lot of documentation but the part how to

work with tables, we didn't found.

First question : Is RFC the right technic or should we use another one.

Second question: Could somebody tell me a link where we can found the documention or an example

who we could setup this interface.

Thanks Sofar.

Hi Gerald,

we did this several times for many customers. RFC is definetely one of the fastest and most reliable techniques to interface from i5 to SAP on any platform. As it is platform independent, there will be no change at all when you move the SAP system to another platform.

We could support you on request.
