hi

SPDD and SPAU is very important phases in upgrade.

SPDD - it allow you to adjust Standard data dictionary objects (Domain, Data element, tables, structures,Table Setting etc...) During Upgrade. SPDD categorised standard data dictionary objects in 3 categories

1. With Modification assistence - here maximum objects appear with Green color Traffic light if you click on those Green color traffic lights one by one correspondig to each objects it automatically get adjusted in higher version, some objects belong to Yellow traffic lights for those objects some manual correction neededn. if you click on yellow traffic light in the next screen a message will come for adjustment

2. without Modification assistence ; here objects are belong to yellow and red traffic light again the same if object belong to yellow traffic light its semi automatic adjusted means some manual correction needed, in case of Red traffic lighs all objects are manually correction needed.

3. Deleted Objects : those objects which are deleted in higher version genrally no need to touch this objects unless and untill it is not required.

Example

take a any table where you have done the changes in lower version say Table is MARA and you have added three Custom fields in Lower version say Zpqr, zdfg and zhgj. now this table will come in SPDD phase during upgrade for adjustment with traffc light, if you Right click on traffic light and go for version mangement in version management compare current version and older version than it will display all the changes in higher version. if you go for delta display it will say this many fields are newly added by sap and this three customized field are deleted in higher version, now here your task is to take those customized field in Higher version. after va-ersion comparison you have an idea like how many filleds are newly added in higher version as well as how many filled need to be adjust in Higher version, now if you click on traffic signal of Mara it will ask you with some message for adjustment with three option in down RESET TO ORIGINAL, ACCEPT PROPOSAL, EDIT PROPOSAL.

if you choose Reset to oiginal : it will loose all the modification done in lower version and reseted as per the higher version, you prefer this for those objects whichare not customized one but the changes has done by SAP from lower version to higher version

if you choose Accept Proposal : in the next screen it will come with all the custom changes and you again click on accept proposal on top it will give you list of include structures used in tables and proposed new structure here yuou selct one of them where you want to add your customized filled when you choose then object get adjusted

if you choose Edit proposal : Now here you can add your customized filled in table whenever you want better you go for Edit Proposal compare the customized fields from old version aand add those filled in same position in table and last whether in higher version all the SAP newly added filled and most important customized filles are added or not. dont miss any filled otherwise for those filled data will lost

similer in case of SPAU objects it will allow you to adjust all satdard programs, includes, function modules, Badis, Note corrections etc...

here object categorised in

1. note correction

2. with modification assistence

3. without modification assistence

4. Deleted objects

similer kind of task you have to perfom here also here split screen Editor allow you to comare all codes of programs from lower version and higher version. here you find some new piece of code added by Sap in higher version, now compare your Spau objects for customized codes may be those piece of codes are missing in higher version add those codes again in higher version in same point

save all SPDD in a single change request and same in case of SPAU

while running transaction SPDD and SPAU

check all the check boxes in first screen of both the transaction and then execute.

take carefully all SPDD and SPAU objects carefully because whole upgrade depends in this phase.

Hi Dude,

SPDD Correction Strategy

SPDD Correction: All Changes made to the SAP Standard Data Dictionary Objects will be adopted during the Upgrade process. In one of the Upgrade phases, system will ask for to adopt the Changes to Dictionary Objects; Technical team will work on it and resolve this. If Technical team comes across any issue during the resolution, Functional Team will assist them resolving it by doing:

1. Analysis of exact change to Data Dictionary Object,

2. Business Process requirement and Impact

SPAU Correction Strategy

SPAU Correction: All Changes made to the SAP Standard Programs will be adopted during the Upgrade process. Once SBX server is Upgraded, Technical team will work on SPAU objects and resolve it by adopting the changes in most of cases. If Technical team comes across any issue during the resolution, Functional Team will assist them resolving it by doing:

1. Analysis of Program Modification,

2. Study the Business Requirement,

3. Its Impact on Business Process
