restoration of bi 7.0 after upgrade

we have upgraded bw 3.5 to BI . its working fine but as we have done upgradation its still on non -unicode and we do not wish to do unicode coversion as our ERP system is non -unicode

when we take backup we cant restore our backup in case of imergenacy by installaing BI 7.0 directely as after fresh installation it will be unicode

what is the process or step we can take to rstore data on priority basis otehr than coverting it to unocode

as everytime we cant install bw 3.5 upgrade to BI and the restore the data

i need guidance for the same .

yes hp-ux 64 bit BI upgrade to 64 bit and oracle 10.2 offcourse 64 bit and but BI installed is non unicode as its upgraded from nonunicode bw 3.5 . we need to take backup which can be restore immidtaely than doing all process of upgradation again

Need little bit clear data to answer ur question because u must check Operating system leavel bit like 32 or 64.

then you must check 3.5 is 32bit u have upgraded to BI7.0 32bit I think my assumption is going correct and also u must check ur database because it will change from BW3.5 to BI7.0

Try to give little bit clear Idea to think from ur side.
