PI 7.1 & other Netweaver components

We are in the process of upgrading to PI 7.1 (from XI 7.0).

Are there any implications regarding versions for other Netweaver components...for example, if Solution manager is still at 7.0 ?

No, not really - although it does suggest that we need 7.1, SP3 for NWDS.
