As we know, we need assign shipping point to plants. And assign Transportation Planning Point to company code? What's relationship among them?

We create shipmment based on outbound develiry or based on the shipping point or transportation planning point? If all, How to acheive each one?

Thanks in advance

Hi

Shipping points are independent organizational entities whithin which processing and monitoring of the deliveries as well as Goods issue happens

A delivery is always carried out from a single shipping point only

A Shipping point can be determined for each order item

Shpping point is managed directly under client level

Shpping point determination happens thro

a. Loading group of the materials from MMR

b. Shipping conditions from Sold to party

c. The delivering plant

In a nutshell if an item has to undergo delivery shipping point is must

Transportation Planning Point is an organizational unit in logistics responsible for planning and processing transportation activities

It performs activities such as accordinfg to shipment type what is the mode of transport etc

Transportation Planning Point consists a group of employees responsible for managing the transportation activities Each shipment is assigned to a specific Transportation Planning Point

You can define various Transportation Planning Point in SPRO for corporate structure before can be used to perform transportation functions

Transportation Planning Point is an organizational unit in the transportation and it is mandatory while creating a shipment document

This i think answers your qn no 1

Transportation planning point is assigned to company code and shipping point is an independent organizational unit managed directly under client

The assignment of plant to shipping point is to inform the system that shipping can happen for the materials of this plant from this shipping point

The boss for Transportation Planning Point is company code

The boss for shipping Point is Client

Hope this answers your qn no 2

Deliveries are created based on shipping point

shipments are created based on Transportation planning points

A shipment document can have multiple deliveries or group of delivery documents

Hope this answers your qn no 3

JC ,

Shipping point:

Shipping point is an Independent organizational unit that performs shipping processing. You can have many shipping points for a plant but delivery is possible thorugh only one shipping point

Shipping point is determined based

1. Shipping Conditions (From Customer MAster Data)

2. Loading Groupd (From MAterial MAster Data)

3. Plant (Either from CMR or MM)

Transportation Planning point:

Transportation planning point is responsible for planning shipments. A Shipment is assigned to one transporation planning point. It helps in deteremining the responsibility of transportation Processing during which it can be used as slection criteria.to present list of shipments... one transportation point is assigned for sea other for land and so on....

Difference: Shipping point is used for processing deliveries, picking and PGI. Transporation planning point is responsible for next process of deliveries that is shipments.

List of deliveries are required for shipment process. Each shipment is allocated to Transportation planning point for transportation planning . Its an intergrated process.

Hope you undertsnad...
