Change of FY Variant from 4-4-5 to 5-4-4

Hi all,

We are considering changing the current FY variant from 4-4-5 to 5-4-4. (Obviously somebody sitting up there in Management thinks we are too free and have nothing to do). Anyway, I would like to request for advice or cautions on what will be the affect of this change.

Our current system is as follows;

ECC 6

Modules : FI (GL,AA, AP,AR)

CO (CCA, PCA,PC,PA)

SD, MM and also PP.

My main concern are actually Asset. How will this change affect the depreciation? retirement etc? I cant find any concrete documentation that give a good explanation on this or on the FY Variant change. Through OSS Note, I am able to find some info, but most of it will end up to consulting SAP SLO. (duh!)

Anybody who has got similar experience to share? Thanks.

Cheers,

Paul

Dear Panichang,

We are facing this same change this year due to a merger. Do you have any lessons learned or information to pass on?

Thanks, Peggy

The any area where I remotely foresee a problem is with Assets, and only because I don;t know assets that well. All that the Fiscal Year Variant does, is provide the last day of the fiscal period. Unless you have done some strange things in Assets, you should be ok.
