SRM MDM Catalogs

Hi,

We are using SRM -MDM catalogs and the technical scenario is classic.

Please let me know when we select the item fro catalogs and the resulting PO/PR is created in MM so to achieve the same do we need to maintain the product categories in MM as well.

Also, is it neccessary that all the product categories in Catalogs should be availbale in SRM as well to create the SC.

Thanks,

Manu

Hi

mdm is an internal catalog. all your product category name must be same.

if you were using some external catalog then you may need to map the srm product category according to your external product category i.e when you finally receive the information into srm it will be converted into srm product catgory name by customer requirement. for eg if you were using UNSPSC catgory and it must be mapped into your local srm category .

srm product category name = material group name.
