Hi All,
Well, can any one tell me how to display an error message when a user enters numbers instead of characters in an input box or vice versa.
Example: enter costs:----
here the user is supposed to enter only numbers but now the user enters a character by mistake ,an error message shoud be displayed saying "only numbers can be entered"
Regards,
Hello Deepa,
When you define an input field as "NUM" then when you press enter or when you go for any other action the validation would happen and you can receive an error msg "Enter the value in the following format -2.733".
Will that do? or you wanna get a message when the user tries to enter any character?
Thanks and regards
Sathya

Hi Sathya,
I found another way to display a message when the user enters a digit.
I just added some rules which are..
Condition Value Error Message
Contains 0 No numerics are allowed
Contains 1 No numerics are allowed
Contains 2 No numerics are allowed
Contains 0 No numerics are allowed
.......so on till 9
And it works perfectly!

Hi,
Please add the validation condition in rules property of that field( Condition : is equal,Value :..)and set the behaviour to severe and check the required check box.
