No active system to select for new solution?

Hi!

I am creating a new solution at tcode dswp(solution_manager).

Per the doc, I should be able to select the active systems for this new solution to monitor.

But I cannot see any active systemsthere.

Do I need to register the active satellite systems

somewhere so that I can include them in the newsolution?

I did it in the SMSY. Any more places?

Please help ASAP. Thanks!

Hi Jason:

To accomplish what you are looking for you need to create 3 new Logical Components one for each individual SAP system you are trying to add to the Solution.

To create new Logical Components, proceed as follows:

In Tx SMSY click "System Groups and Logical Components"

1) Expand "Logical Components"

2) Expand the component you want to add a new Logical Component to (R3, BW, WAS..)

3) Right click and select "Create New Logical Component"

4) Now fill every option in the Create New Component Dialog box, try to use "Z" as the first character to follow SAP naming conventions.

5) Once created, you can add the instance in the new Logical Component and then, add the Logical Component to your Solution Landscape (the steps I mention in the thread above)

Also, you can remove unused system roles, like QA, DEV or PRD from the new logical component; to do that, proceed as follows:

1) In the "Current System Assignments", select button "System Roles"

2) then remove unused roles from the dialog box and save.

That's all!!!

Hi Jason:

After you add the system in Solution Manager itself through transaction SMSY you need to assign this new system to your Solution, to do so follow these steps.

In transaction SMSY go to "System Groups and Logical Components" then:

1-Expand "Solution Landscapes"

2-Click the solution you want to add the system to.

3-Switch to change and add your new system to the landscape.

May I ask you one more question?

Now on my smsy I have

"Logical component" "dev system" "QA system"

SAP BW EBD EBT

I want to make it like this:

"Logical component" "dev system"

SAP BW EBD

SAP BW1 EBT

In other word, I want to break it into two lines.

I tried very hard but failed. Please help.
