hi,

You need to have content services for SAP(e-connector) administrator(also called webadmin tool) installed and configured with your docbase.

After its done, you need to enter SAP connection details like SAP server name and user details.

You can use HTTP archiving services. Go to ArchiveLink tab on the left pane. Enter documentum type and in the defined Map rules enter folder path where the archived documents need to be stored in documentum.

NOTE: You need to send one certificate from your SAP system and then accept it from CS4SAP admin tool. Its required to authenticate documentum to talk to SAP.

For details, refer "content services for SAP user guide for administrators"

If you need any further info, pls let me know your exact requirements and scenarios.

Also check Content exchanging from one repository to other

If you are simply doing data or printlist archiving, you only need AS SAP. If you need to do linking to archivlink objects or replicate certain attributes such as printlist meta-data then you need CS SAP. The Agent component of CS SAP has a lot of advance functionality for batch linking.

You can optionally archive content to Centera using Content Server-Centera integration.

PM me or reply here if you have any more questions. I have been working with SAP Documentum integrations for over 10 years.

Hi Sachin ,

We have integrated SAP with documentum using archive link and able save & retrive documents into documentum system using archive link.

If SAP need to send across sap object information and attachment details to other system then what information need to be send to other system to identify the object on documentum.

Is the SAP object id ( like equipment id ) is sufficient for other system to retrive the document and use it ?

If i need to send more data how do we get hold of that data ?

Would like to hear the best practices so can you please provide what to do for this type of requirement ? Please pass your contact details o that i can call / mail you to discuss more on this.

Hi Nanda,

May I know the steps to be able to retrieve from Documentum? And did you get to solve the issue on how to send these objects retrieved from Documentum to other systems?

Thanks,

Hi, I'm interested in find out, what SAP license should be positioned in order to assure integration between Documentum & SAP ERP 6.0 (MM, FI-AR, FI-AP, SD).

Please, explain what license should be used and how much cost.

Many Thanks!

I have basic query on documents created from SOAP GUI - using DFS webservices (as lot of post we can create it).

Now I want those documents to be available on the SAP modules (MM and QM)- can some one provide some pointer to me - that os this possible ?

Reason is - I have started workflow in SAP and uplaoded certain documents through SOAP GUI from Externet and now business user to work on to that workflow will use transactions and from Intranet. Business user shoould be able to see/view the  same documents were uploaded through SOAP GUI.

Hope my query is clear - I am not clear about how internal logic work for SAP to retrieve the documents in MM and QM modules, were uplaoded by SOAP GUI external portal.

Just thought to check -

Option 1:

Can I call ASSAP configuration from SOAP GUI using RFC ? So I do not have to use the DFS ? as I have already confogured the ASSAP for MM and QM modules.

OR

Option 2:

Using DFS create / upload documents from SOAP GUI for SAP. Once uplaoded ID will be returned - store it in SAP Database and from SAP modules while running existing workflow - need to retrive frist query to SAP DB and through DFS web services only retrive the data.

In this scenario- no ASSAP needed.

Which one is feasible or any 3rd option ?

Hi,

On our project we are using the components archive services for SAP (assap) and content services for SAP. These are delivered by Documentum and you will need them both but you can verify that with your documentum resource.

Technically you configure the SAP archivelink component to communicate with the assap component throught http. This can be done in transaction AOC0. I.e you create a test repository and give it the settings that it needs to "see" the repository defined in Documentum.

I hope this helps.

It depends on how you intend integrating and what you are integrating. What are you trying to integrate? DMS or ArchiveLink?

This is one area I honest do not suggest you mess around with without having a skilled person who knows the area well. A generic documentum expert will not know this because it requires knowledge of the Documentum SAP Certified Content Server, if the Documentum person knows this, then you won't have to ask these questions, if they don't, then you will need to find a skilled resource.

There are too many integration options which can apply in this case which makes it difficult to answer the questions and all of these are dependent on the client's requirements, available licensing, purposes of the documents that need to be integrated into SAP. For example, for DMS integration, you can use Content Services for SAP or Process Services for SAP, or both.
