Hi All,
We are setting up our QAS environment by restoring it from our PRD. We have 450 users in PRD. Once we restore QAS from PRD, we will get all the 450 Users in QAS as well. After restore, we will create 65 NEW users in QAS. Now, we will have to refresh QAS from PRD every month. And whenever we refresh, the user master in QAS will be overwritten by the user master of PRD and we will LOOSE the NEWLY created 65 users. We have to find a way so that we can have all the users from PRD and we can have these 65 users as well without creating them every time we refresh. We though of doind a client copy of QAS after creating the 65 users in QAS, but if we restore user master from this client copy, we will losse the new users in PRD. We want to keep ALL the users from PRD after each refresh and at the same time, we would like to have our 65 users in the system as well without having to create them manually. Can you please suggest us how can we achieve this ?
Thanks,
NK
We will use CATT scripts or a BDC to create these 65 users and at the same time, we will run BDC to download the new added users from PRD and to upload them to QAS, this way we will be in sync with PRD
Thanks to all of you who replied.

You can export the User Master records of Quality system via Client Export method and after refreshing the QA system with Production database you can import the same user master record into Quality system

Subhash, we initially thought to do the same, BUT here is the issue with this process - If we export the user master using client export from QAS Before refresh and import it back again, it will overwrite the user master that came from PRD during refresh , which means that we will LOOSE the information of the new users added to the PRD system after last refresh. We have to keep the new users that are coming from the refresh and at the same time we have to make sure that we keep the generic users (65)created on QAS.
Any other thoughts that might help us ?
