Missing environment variables after a kernel swap

Former Member

I loaded and patched a brand new 700A kernel from SAP Service Marketplace. After applying this kernel to my development system (V5R4) the SIDofr is missing some environment variables when he logs on. The following environment variables are not being added:

SAPSYSTEM

SAPDBHOST

INSTANCE_NAME

Any ideas as to why these stopped getting added after I swapped out the kernel? I'm guessing it's something to do with the r3inlpgm in r3<sid>400. What's the best way to fix it and avoid it in the future?

thanx

SAP got back to me on this problem. I was missing the DIR_EXECUTABLE = /usr/sap/<SID>/sys/exe/run parameter from the start and instances profiles. Fixed the problem as soon as I added it.
