Hi!
We are going to activate IPC with SRM ...Could you please give me some direction about IPC? Is it really necessary to create rfc connection ? Why?
Is there any manual for implementation?
Thanks,

Hi,
If you are implementing Extended classic scenario in SRM you need to much activate IPC.
IPC Used in Extended classic scenairo for mainlly for price calculations for PO.
For classic scenario NO need to implement IPC.
In the SAP Enterprise Buyer classic scenario, pricing can occur without IPC in certain circumstances. You can find more information in SAP Note 539720 (Simplified Pricing - classic scenario) including which BAdI implementations have to be activated or deactivated if you wish to implement this Pricing variant.
For more information on implementation and configuration of SAP IPC, see the SAP Service Marketplace under service.sap.com/instguides ® mySAP CRM ® SAP CRM ® Installation and Upgrade Information
Using tcode SM52 Can check whether the IPC is running ( acitve ) or not..
Installation of IPC will be a Basis activity and included in VMC.
Notes 844817 and 673372 will be helpful about IPC.
Hope that u got an idea on IPC
Thanks
