Hi all,
I will be installing SAP Solution Manager 7 to V5R4 iSeries server but upon installation of TMKSVR, it's giving an error in phase CHECKING INSTANCE
"An error ocured during installation (send TMKMessage:" could not send message, no connection available.)"
I already copied all the MASTER, KERNEL, LANGUAGE, and JAVA cd's in the server. I also updated to the latest ISERPACK8 for Solution Manager/iSeries V5R4 version. Tried run the installation in Windows XP and Windows Vista but the same error occurred.
Hope you can help me resolve the error.
Thanks,
John
Hi:
on iseries you should check the following:
execute: CFGTCP
Then option 10 --> in hosts table check if you have:
::1 IPV6-LOOPBACK
IPV6-LOCALHOST
127.0.0.1 LOOPBACK
LOCALHOST
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <servername> ex: server01
<servername.domain.com> ex: server01.mycompany.com
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <server_windows> ex: windosxp
After that option 12 -->
Name of the principal system --> <servername> ex: server01
Name of the domain ---> <domain.com> ex: mycompany.com
Please, be very carefull and extrict this Uppercase o Lowecase
After that in the Windows PC --> edit hosts file and put the same information.
i think that is all....
Bye

Hello my friend
Just to be clear, first of all, I assume you have the user on current windows host which has same id/pwd as on iSeries Host. And you ran setup.exe in TMKSVR directory, which enables TMKSVR instance and netserver serviceon iSeries host. Now, you should be able to see all files on IFS of iSeries. Besides, every time you setup TMKSVR connection you need to make sure the port you define is available on iSeries.
Thanks,
Effan

Hi Johan,
I don't know what you did ... but I would start again ...
- dltlib tmksvr00 and tmksvr
- setup tmksvr from a patched CD (with latest iserpack)
- you will see: it works great ))

Hi John,
Please try to ping the iSeries from your installation PC in the following ways
- ping -a <ip address of the iSeries>
- ping xxxxxxxx
- ping xxxxxxxx.<domain name>
If all pings would have been successful but TMKSVR still is unable to connect, you may try to add the name of your installation PC to the iSeries' TCP/IP Host Table (CFGTCP option 10), for the time of installation only.
You should pay special attention here to lower and upper cases (see SAP Note 60252)
Regards
Ken

You might need to start the TCP/IP Server - STRTCPSVR SERVER(*NETSVR)
