Item Category from Delivery different to SA's.

Gurus,

We have many Scheduling Agreements for which we have alredy delivered and therefore item category seems like non editable. However we changed the item category group of some of those SA's materials and want the item category to be redetermined. We would like this to happen either way:

1. Within the SA's. This would be the best option but does not seem to be a way of updating and therefore changing the item cateogories of the items, unless we delete them and redo them again which is something we want to avoid.

2. When creating the Delivery. For this purpose we wouldn't want the item category to be inherited or copied from the SA to the Delivery and therefore forcing the delivery item determination to be done. How can this be achieved? Right now it is always getting the SA item category in the delivery and it is not doing the determination for the delivery.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

JRA.

HI,

The Item Category Determination in the Delivery will be used by SAP only if it does not have a preceding document for the line item in the Delivery.

But Neverthless you can still get your requirement done...

When you create a delivery with reference to the Sales order / Sched Agreement the item category is copied from the source document to the target document.

This is done throught he Data Transfer Routine 101 ( Include FV50C101 ) .There is a section Item Structure in the routine, which copies the data into the target document.

"Item structure

lips-pstyv = cvbap-pstyv."

here is the place where you can do your logic checking and flip the item category..

Technically, it might be possible by the above method. .. But Process wise though you changed your item category group in the material master after the SA's are partially delivered.. how does that impact ? ... and even after doing the changes. I am not sure whether the system updates the document flow correctly. and the Stock Requirement lists are reduced???

Be very careful before you do any changes....
