Hi gurus,

good morning.

our DC20 setting under 'define data carrier type server front end' is C: folder.

when viewing documents in CV03N, document is automatically saved in C: folder with document name '_username01.jpg' .. were is the file name defined? is the 01 defined as number range?

where do we configure on what document name will be used in saving in the C: folder?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Acel

'_username01.jpg' is not the name of the original file.

It is just the username who has accessed the document in Display mode.

It is diffrent from the number range used for numbering the dirs which can be configured in OD00.

Hi Prasad,

we understand that '_username01.jpg' was generated upon viewing the file. it is not the original file.

may we know where does '_username01.jpg' came from? how it was generated?

thank you.

Hello,

Naming logic is desided by configuration done in DC30 for that perticular application. If you tick "You cannot rename temporary files", temp. file name is maintained same as original file name. If not ticked, it is changed to "_username01"

Hi Milind,

Thanks for the info. However, may we ask on how the system determines on what filename to user?

where does the combination '_username01' came from. username is the SAP ID and 01 is the counter? is this SAP configured?

thank you

Hi Acel

In the standard SAP System, the copy is assigned a name according to the naming convention defined in the program.

The BAPI * GetApplication * and Function Module * BAPI_DOCUMENT_GETAPPLICATION * uses this Tick which is stored in Table * TDWP * and names the file .

Check with your ABAP Consulatant to find the details of this BAPI where the Program has Naming Logic.
