Is it possible to have material substitution across plants?

Does substitution of materials work across plants or does it only substitute within one plant?

Is the scenario below possible using substiution logic?

Line 10: Material A, QTY 5 Plant A

Line 20: Material A, QTY 1, higher level item 10 Plant A

Line 30: Material B,QTY 2, higher level item 10 Plant B

Line 40: Material C, QTY 2, higher level item 10 Plant C

If this is possible, can you please detail the steps to make this work?

I would like material substiution to work across plants.

If you order material 123456 from Plant A quantity 5.

Is it possible for the system to subsitute it across plants?

I want the system to substiute as follows:

Material 123456 Plant A Quantity 5

Material 98765 Plant B Quantity 4

Material 56434 Plant C Quantity 1

Does that make sense?

I am not getting your question... But I understand in a way that u need to replace a material iwth another material ....

Try in CS20.. you have to enter the original material and the material which ics to be substituted...

you need to enter the qty... and execute,, The system will give you the list of all headers that has the matrials you are trying to change...

In that select as per your requirement( i.e in which header u want the changes)...

If the materials and the BOm are extended to the plants in your requirement,then all the BOMs will be changed in all the plants...

i am not sure, but i think this is not supported in ERP. instead, this is supported by the GATF feature in SAP SCM.
