what you mean by extrapolation of dates.. in PS ?

Extrapolate date function will transfer the date from lower level WBSE to its superior WBSE

You can transfer the dates from one WBS element to all superior WBS elements, if these higher-level WBS elements do not yet have any dates.

You can carry out this function for all sets of dates, regardless of planning method.

kindly let me know .. whether this can be done within WBS or from activity to WBS also and does this have any conflict with scheduling scenario ...?

This can be done within WBS not from activity to WBS...U cannot use extrapolate date function when u r using Top-down scheduling...u can increase the date of top WBSE from lower-level WBSE but u cannot decrease date of top WBSE using extrapolate
