Previous period opening

hi Gurus,

Can anyone tell me how to open the previous period which has already been closed. We have closed the jan and feb 2009 posting periods for MM and would like to open it again. I tried MMPI but its not letting us do it and gives an error "Follow the instructions in Note 487381 before initialization". Can any one suggest me what to do.

At the maximum the system allows posting in the previous period. This you can do with MMRV. To go beyond that and open up closed old periods is a serious acitivity that might cause un-intended consequences to the extent even shutting the system down and making the whole data mixed-up.

So try your level best to avoid doing this, if really required, you must contact SAP through customer message

Donot do this as it will make your system unstable and then you have to go SAP to stabilise the system.For SAP it is a consulting issue and they charge for it so in any case you are not advised to open the Period closed.
