Proportional Factor

Hi,

In Demand planning there is a requirement to calculate the proportional

factors based on linking the "Characteristics= 9AMATNR" with a

specified logic from historical data.

The Problem arises with , as we are changing the 9AMATNR (Material No.)

of Finish products every year with external no. range with a specific

logic, whenever we are running the proportional factor calculation

without knowing the system the logic of the linking the material no.s,

the system is not able to calculate the actual proportional factors.

Please guide to resolve this technical issue.

Could you please let us know how you are linking the proportional factors calculation with the material characterstic..To my knowledge these are calculated based on the keyfigure say demand history

Thanks for the reply.

Every year material no will be changed with suffix 08,09,10 ( If the model year is 2008,2009,2010) ,and all the BOM & Routing will be recreated.

In this situation , how to create this PF ?

As Proportional factors is a DP funtionality, you have to create new CVCs in DP. New CVCs are created based on your Order Demand History cube in most of the clients. This demand history is pulled from BW. So BW should have all the changed materials details in it. Now, Proportional factors are calculated using Tcode /SAPAPO/MC8V. Here if you use the demand history cube as the basis, then you will mention the Demand history key figure based on that system will create Proportuional factors.

So, the changes that are done for the materials have to be done in BW. Based on that it will automatically take care of the proprotional factors. Please let us know if your process is different from what I explained.

This project is under progress, in prototyping stage.

Whatever you have written that is standard functionality to calculate PF.

Here in the Material Level Forecasting Run is not being happened. It is happening in higher level called Models ( 1 Model consisting of N no. of Fininsh Goods).

Finish goods no. is getting changed every year.

If Model level if proportional factor can be calculated then the problem will not be there, after that manually we have to disggregate the data by means of Calculation logic P ( Based on another KF).

But we want automatic disaggregation upto material level by PF ( If we can maintain the relationship between previous years Finish goods material no.)

It will be required to push the data in 9AMATNR characteristics level to SNP.

Please suggest.
