Please. i need the system to check the availability of materials in store before sales order i.e the system should not post the sales order if the quantity in sales order is greater than quantity in stock.
Hi Victor,
Availablility check for a particular storage location can be done, if you maintain Storage location for the material in the Sales order. This will suffice your problem.
You can refer to the following help link for the same:

Hi
Welcome to SDN
By, stores, i mean that you are referring the site in retail (in R3 it is plant)
Your requirement is not at all possible in standards
If the available qty is less than the order qty the order should not be saved (hope this is your requirement)
In standard we can make the settings so that availabilty popup will be thrown
But to make the sales order not to get saved is not possible in standards
I too had a similar requirement sometime back
Check this thread

Hi,
Your requirment can implemented by configuration of Availability Check in SAP. When ever the quantity of the sales order is more than the quantity in the store the system will pop a window and then you can select what action to be taken.
To configure Avalibity check you can check on this link
http://www.sap-img.com/sap-sd/configuring-availability-check-through-checking-groups.htm

Dear Victor,
In this your scedule line will be in such a way that it should check stock in storage location only. It shouldnt go for reqmt planning. The schedule line also compare total of sales order to total in storage location. If the value is negative system throw an error not process the sales order, sales order qty more.
Discuss this with ABAP. Wait for what others say?
