Hai,

There are at least 1000 differences between easyDMS and SAP and also more than thousands similarities.

EasyDMS is MS explorer integration with sap. DMS is what you access from sap client.

Hi,

SAP DMS is transaction based DMS whereas easy dms is explorer based solution ,not transaction based.

In easy dms documents are created under folder like strucutre.

It has drag & drop functionality for files or documents just like windows explorer.

Offline editing is also possible to files.

Installation file for easy DMS can be obtianed from service marketplace.

Recent version is 6.0, SP09

EasyDMS runs above SAP DMS as a UI layer which is very easy to use. EasyDMS can be installed with few clicks in a PC with SAP GUI installed and user can start using it. It is very easy to use as user feels like navigating on their windows explorer and powerful too with object links , authorizations etc. Even there are option to develop and add customized plugins.

Hi,

SAP DMS and Easy DMS have different user interface. SAP DMS work on SAP R/3 GUI. While user interface for SAP DMS needs to be installed separately on user desktop.

There is much more difference between SAP DMS and Easy DMS. Easy DMS is user friendly interface and some functionality like linking of documents to folder structure and creation of folder structure are very easy in easy DMS. Also user can maintain various default values like storage category, file location. authorization group, lab/ design office etc in easy DMS.

Easy DMS can be downloaded freely from SAP service market place. The latest version is 6.00. Download unicode version and install it on you local PC where SAP GUI is installed. Maintain parameters like System ID, Name, IP etc .

Click on desktop shortcut of easy DMS , select system and user your SAP credentials to login into easy DMS. It also have ECL viewer installed with it. So functionality like redlining can be used. We can integrate it windows explorer. Rather it is based on similar technology.
