Hello all,
we are looking at doing a hardware migration (no upgrade involved) from Solaris8/Oracle 9.2 to Solaris10/Oracle 9.2 and utilising the concept of Solaris 'zones'.
The architecture has all 3 databases (BW/ERP/SRM) in a single Solaris zone on the new server, and then the CI for each of these systems (along with standalone TREX and IPC) in another zone on the same physical server. These are all PRODUCTION systems.
Does anyone know if this is a configuration that is supported by SAP? I can't find anything that says it is not supported, but I have concerns about setting it up this way eg. if one of the database processes uses a lot of resource impacting on the other two in the same zone.
Anyone have any practical Solaris 10 experience with SAP to indicate if this is a workable solution?
Or should each DB and CI have its own zone?
TIA.
Regards....John
