Preventing posting outside start and end date of WBS

Client receives funding from government, which has strict rules.

One of the rules is that no expenses should be posted outside the duration of the WBS (funding period).

Example:

client creates a WBS with the start and end date: 1 Jan 2009 to 31 May 2009.

If a posting is done outside that period, then it will not be funded by the government.

However, users post in March 2009 with posting date 15 June 2009.

The government will not fund those expenses.

How to prevent users posting to the WBS outside the start and end date ?

You may use Validation (GGB0) under project system node. Create rules to send error messages when the condition is fulfilled.

But how can this work to prevent financial postings ?

It seems that there isn't any integration between the PS validation rules and checking by the system during the postings in FI.
