Hi Gurus,
I ran a query 2 times but everytime it is getting time out. Please advice me what could be the reason or what should I do find out the problem.
I would appreciate for quick reply.
Hello Pramod,
Tune the query design - Put all initial unnacessary characterstics inside "Free Characterstics", Use filters for restriction on entire report level what not.
Check it using RSRT.
It could also be Cach Problem. Also try to check if anything else very heavy is running at the same time on same server.
Hope it helps.

Hi Pramod,
Run the query in RSRT and then check for the error messages.

Hi Pramod;
There could be several reasons for this, try to run this query for small amount of data and even if you get timeout for this see the details on the Job in t-code SM66, contact your basis team ask them to do the runstat for the table of the cube that you are running the queries. which database you are in?

Hi Pramod,
Try running the query by restricting some of the characteristics to few values.
May the query is retrieving huge number of records and gets timedout.
Also try running it on web by clickeing the icon "Display query on web" on query designer
