System number conflict in BI-Java/ECC systems.

Hi

We have a tricky issue in which the SEM-BCS server has been upgraded to NW 7.0 by another group of consultants, with a BI-Java stack installed. This is already in production.

When we upgraded to ECC 6.0 / EP 7.0 on another production host, there is a problem as both systems are on a high availability (HA) setup where either system will failover to the other -- the BI-Java stack was mistakenly installed with a system number which conflicts with the ECC 6.0 ABAP stack system number.

This effectively cripples the HA setup.

Can we check if there is anyway that the system number in BI-Java can be changed as changing the ECC system number would bear greater risks in a production environment?

Thank you!

Hi Desiree

Thanks for the reply, this will apply if we change either the system number on BI-Java or the one in the ECC ABAP stack?

Hi,

As I can see, the only way to change the system number is to perform a new installation or a system copy. During system copy you will be promted for the system number and it is possible to adapt it.
