Hi,
My client provides interior decoration to their customers. For ex. they have to make a bedroom.
I have suggested them to make a single level BOM of example: BED as finished (fert) and wood as raw material (ROH).TABLE as (FERT) and wood timber as (ROH).
I have not asked them to create a material as u2018BEDROOM and assign TABLE and BED as BOM. Because they donu2019t need to do a GR to storage location of finished product ie bedroom. Rather I have asked to individually create a production order of TABLE and BED and then send it to customers site. I hope I am right. Please let me know whether I am correct?
Moreover my client says when they finish the production of BED , they donu2019t do a GR into their storage location rather they sent to site. How to map this??
Please guide.

Folks,
I dont understand why we are looking at straight PP option for this scenario, I would suggest to use PS(Project System), Create a Project and have WBS elements based on various controlling needs, for the WBS elements you create Network and assign the operations and Components. This is the way i feel it should work.
PP is not the module to deal with this requirement of yours. Please try to look at this Option, discuss with a PS&CO guy he would certainly apperciate my thinking.

Dear Yasir,
It is not mandatory to do GR even you the components in BOM.For getting actual cost values you need to do GR.
If you dont want to cost that components for the BEDROOM you can select"DO NOT COST" so that the components cannot be costed while cost run.

Yasir,
Considering your requirement, I would like to ask you few questions,
1. Why don't you do GR of either BEDROOM or TABLE or BED? Then how come your client charges to their customer? On which basis?
2. If GR is not happening of any of the things then why do you want to create production order? Just to show GI against something, then how do you manage the costing part?
Answer this to help you further.

For this part what u told is also correct... But in this they cant expect the actual cost in making the Bedroon.. Instead they cud get the cost of only making the Bed and the table...

THis should not be done... Production is said to be done only when the order is delivered.i.e GR.
You can deliver them in MB31 too ur own stor.locitself....
