Grouping articles in picking

Is it possible to group similar type of articles (e.g food articles, or non food articles) in the picking list, even though in the sales order such grouping is not done? Here there is only one storage location for all the items. Scenario is that in a warehouse of a supermarket, the food items like dal, rice packets and non food items like detergents are stacked separately at different places. If similar charactered items are grouped together in the picking list, then it will be easy for the picking person.

I think it is possible by maintaining seperate Item category for Food items and non food items.

It would have been better if you would have maintained seperate Material groups.

You can also try

1.By mainataing seperate Document type for Food items and non food items.

2. Seperate Item categories based on material groups.

3. You cold have used Item Proposal for food items and non food items (Material Listing and exclusion) at sales order level.

4. Delivery could have been done for the same.
